I hope you all head a wonderful weekend (and some creative adventures!)
Today I have a super cute punch art card to share with you, but before I do, I have to say a couple things about it. First of all, when I look at a circle punch, I see a circle and nothing else! I definitely can not think outside the box when it comes to punches. Thankfully, there are TONS of people out there who are great and coming up with cute punch art ideas! I consider it the most sincere form of flattery when we copy each other's work (while giving proper credit, of course) and so I am always on the lookout for cute ideas I can copy. I originally came across this idea while at a scrapbooking retreat. My friend Ruth made a VERY similar card and I just thought it was adorable! She got the idea for the card from a couple different places. You can see Ruth's original card and read about how she came up with the idea by clicking on THIS LINK
Okay ... with all that being said, here is my version of the card:
As you can see, I really didn't do much to change the card. I mean, why mess with perfection, right? The couple little changes I made were that I used the wood grain embossing folder instead of the polka dots because I wanted the horse to kind of be in a "stable" looking space. I also added a rhinestone to the horse's little ears so that it would look like a girl horse (since the card was for a female friend). I love the rhinestone in her ears! So cute!
I also added a rhinestone to the sentiment (which I printed off the computer, by the way) and because I wanted it to be "girly", I colored my rhinestone with a melon mambo blenabilies marker. (Seriously, the blendabilities markes are AWESOME .... you NEED them!)
As you know, I like to list the supplies I used so that if you would like to make this card, you know what you will need. A couple notes about the supply list below ... the punch I used for the horse's ears is called the five petal flower punch and is retires. DOH! A quick look through the catalog, though, and I found that there are several petals on the "Fun Flower" punch that could look like ears, so I've added that to my supply list as a replacement for the five petal flower punch. Also, the googly eyes I used were some that I had left over from a project I did for my son's class. However, I was pleased to see that we currently have a kit on our clearance rack that includes googly eyes! How perfect is that!? So I've added that kit to my supply list below as well. And finally ... did you know that if there is anything in my supply list that you just HAVE TO HAVE, you can click on it and it will take you directly to that item in my online store? Pretty snazzy, right?
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and spending some time in my little space on the blogosphere. I love sharing my creative adventures with you!
Until next time, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!
Kim
