Project Life Weeks 2 and 3

Hello again friends!

On Tuesday I started to share my 2015 project life album with you.  Today I'll share my week 2 and week 3 pages.  One thing you will notice as we go along is that sometimes I don't have a lot to share from a week and so maybe I just do one small page (like week 2) and sometimes my life is a little more eventful and I'll have several pages for one week (like week 3).  That's one of the things I love about project life.  You can use lots of different page layouts and sizes and still get your pages scrapped in a timely fashion!  Anyway ... on to my pages:

Here's week 2:

And here's week 3:

One of the things I'm learning to do with project life (and I guess it would apply to traditional scrapbooking as well) is to hold on to little mementos of events to add to my scrapbook.  For example, in week 3, Jacob and I went to see Paddington and I saved our movie tickets.  I love the way they look in the scrapbook:

So that's it for today, friends!  Thank you for stopping by.  If I can help you with your memory keeping journey, please send me an email or leave a comment here.

Until next time, here's wishing you any creative adventures and a very blessed day!

Project Life ~ 2015

Hello friends!

Today I am going to start sharing my 2015 Project Life album.  When I first discovered Stampin' Up! about four years ago, my intention was to be a scrapbooker ~ but then I discovered card-making and I never quite found time to do scrapbooking. Then just last year, Stampin' Up! introduced me to Project Life ... a memory keeping system that is simple and, for me, was an "a-ha" moment.  I finally had  away that I thought I could make scrapbook pages AND still be a card maker.  I did a few Project Life pages and a vacation album last year and LOVED the product. This year, I decided to try to do a "true" project life album by scrapping weekly.  (Thanks to the easy concept of Project Life, so far it's been easy for me to keep up with weekly spreads.)  For my album, my weeks run Saturday thru Friday.  That works for me because I take pictures all week and then I have Saturday and Sunday to get that week in my scrapbook.  I thought maybe I'd start sharing my pages with you so that you can see how easy Project Life really is.  Today I'll share my cover page and my week 1 pages.

Here's my cover page:

You'll notice some praying hands in the top right corner.  I initially intended to put another family photo in that slot, but then I was at church one Sunday and there was a beautiful "family prayer" in the bulletin and I thought it would be a great idea to put an annual prayer for my family on the cover page of my annual albums, so that's what I did.  I wrote the prayer out on a piece of whisper white card stock but then I covered it with a piece of velum that you can lift up if you pull that piece out.  I wanted the prayer itself to be semi-private, but still able to be read if I wanted to pull it out.  Here's what that looks like:

I'm really happy with the way that came out!

Finally for today, I thought I would share my "Week 1" spread.  I spent week one of 2015 in Raton visiting family, so it took two pages to scrap those photos:

As you can see, I'm not sticking with a theme or color through the album.  I had red and black on my cover page and now oranges and blues.  I am not a "fussy" scrapbooker.  I think that the most important thing is to get the memories in to my album and to enjoy looking at it.   So I take my photos during the week and then decide on my color combos and layout on the weekend when I scrap them.  It's mostly just based on my mood and I like working that way!

Well, that's it for today.  Thursday I'll be sharing my week 2 and week 3 pages, so please come back by.  Until then, my friends, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very blessed day!

Banner Blessings

It's been a while, friends!

November and December were CRAZY busy months for me and I'm just barely catching up from all the craziness.  (I just barely took my Christmas tree down this weekend!)  Anyway, I figured it was time to get back in to the swing of things.  I haven't had "regular" time to stamp, so I haven't done a ton of creating and therefore won't get to post EVERY DAY, but I'll try to post as often as possible.

For today's card, I did a major CASE of a the card on this blog:  http://stampingwithsandi.com/stampin-banner-blessings-mojo-monday/.  As you can see, I changed a few things about the card, but follower her design in large-part and so I always like to give credit where credit is due.

Here's my version of the card:

I really love this "Banner Blessings" set from Stampin' Up!  I mailed this card to my mom (who I send cards to pretty regularly) and she said this is one of her favorites of all time ... particularly because she loves the sentiment.  You just can't go wrong with scripture!

Well, friends .... I hope you enjoy today's post. It feels good to be back!  I expect to have at least one more post this week, so keep an eye out.  Or, if you prefer, you can subscribe to my blog and receive an email anytime I post something.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very BLESSED day!
