Cowabunga Dude!

Good morning, friends.  Have you seen all the cute stuff being posted on Pinterest using the Curvy Keepsakes die?  I "kind of" liked that die when I saw it in the Holiday catalog, but once I started seeing all the cute ideas on Pinterest, I knew I needed to have it!

I've seen lots of fun animals made with the die, but I hadn't seen this yet:

My son is a  HUGE Ninja Turtles fan and so I had to try making this!  I just think it's adorable!  This will be the container for Halloween treats for his class this year.  It's super simple to make so I can put a bunch of them together fairly quickly.

Just for kicks, I'm sharing a second Halloween Curvy Keepsakes box today too:

I love this candy corn DSP!  These would make really cute little treats for co-workers, don't you think?

Make sure to check back tomorrow for "What's Up Wednesday" to find out all the latest Stampin' Up! news and find out what's on the Weekly Deals.

Until then, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Who wants a free Christmas card?

Hello friends!

I'm back and hope to be blogging a little more regularly.  I'm working really hard to figure out how to do some videos to start adding them to my blog, but I'm suffering through some technical difficulties.  Hopefully I'll get there eventually.  Anyway ... until then .... who wants a free Christmas card?

You can get this card for free .....

What's the catch, you ask?  Really no catch .... except you have to come and get it (and make it) yourself.  This Saturday (October 4th) is World Card Making Day and to celebrate, I'm holding an open house event and as part of the event, you get to make this card for free!  All you have to do is call or email me and tell me that you want to come.  Easy as that!

If you are long distance (or even if you are local) and want to get the supplies to make this card, place a $20 order in MY ONLINE STORE before October 15th and I'll mail you the supplies to make FIVE of this card!

Happy Monday, friends and thanks for stopping by.  Until next time, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very blessed day.

Endless Birthday Wishes

Hello again, friends!

I hope you all had  wonderful weekend!  I definitely had a great weekend ... my momma was here all weekend and we had a FANTASTIC time together.  She'll be headed home today and I sure hate to see her go, but I'm thankful for the time we enjoyed together this weekend.

Today I have a card that I made a month or so ago.  This card was for a co-worker's birthday:

I really love this stamp set.  It's called Endless Birthday Wishes and it is one of our photopolymer sets.  It was a hugely popular set and, in fact, it sold out REALLY quickly and for the first time with any of our photopolymer sets, Stampin' Up! made more and continued to offer the set. (Previously our photopolymer sets were only available while supplies last.)  I think it was this set that cause Stampin' Up! to change their policy and now we guarantee to offer photopolymer sets for six months.  I love that because we have some super cute photopolymer sets!

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous week ahead of you.  I am hoping to have several posts for you this week (even though I didn't do any stamping this weekend).  And I'll definitely have the latest updates for you on What's Up Wednesday, so be sure to stop by back and visit.

Until next time, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very blessed day!

I'll be back real soon!

Well, friends, it's Monday and I've got nothing to show you!  **sad face**

But ... I have a good excuse .... I got new carpet in my entire house over the weekend ... **happy face** .... and so my entire house was in disarray and there was no hope of stamping!

I will definitely have a "What's Up Wednesday" post this week with all of Stampin' Up's latest updates and I'm hoping to be back on Friday for my favorite post of all ... Faith Based Friday.

Until then, I'll leave you with this little bit of humor ...

Until next time, my friends ... here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Faith Based Friday ~ Scripture Keeper

Hello friends,

When I started my Faith Based Friday posts, I pointed out that I am no where near being a theologian and that any thoughts I shared about faith are from my heart.  Keeping that in mind with today's post, I wanted to share a little about memorizing scripture.

I grew up attending lots of different churches ... mostly Baptist and Methodist.  In my adulthood, I settled in to the Catholic faith.  Many people would debate my next point, but coming from someone who has practiced my faith in a variety of churches, the common tie between all these denominations is that we all love God and are just trying to serve Him as best we know how.  That being said, the WAY we go about serving Him and worshipping Him has differences ... some minor and some fairly major.  Without getting in to a debate over "who loves God the RIGHT WAY" (which, of course, there is no "right" way) one thing that is less emphasized in the Catholic church compared to the Baptist and Methodist churches I attended as a child is memorizing scripture.  Contrary to what many non-catholics believe, we actually DO read our Bibles (and have THREE readings from the Bible at every Mass) but we don't really focus on "memorizing" scripture.

I enjoy memorizing scripture and I think it's good to do.  Here are some Bible verses that I think encourage me to memorize scripture:

Psalm 119:11 ~ I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

2 Timothy 3:16 ~ All scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

Colossians 3:16 ~ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

There are lots more verses that I believe support memorizing scripture, but you get my point.  Anyway, today I want to share with you a scripture keeper that my up-line, Ronda Wade designed.  I took the class when she offered it and have been using my scripture keeper for some time now and I really enjoy it and find that it helps me to memorize Christ's word and follow Him more closely.  I keep mine at work and often refer to it and add scripture to it during my lunch hour.

Here's the cover:

The cover and back are made of chipboard.  Everything is fairly flat and I like that because it doesn't get bumped and  don't have to worry about cute embellishments falling off.  I need this scripture keeper to be "user friendly" and it is.

We decorated some of the inside pages and left some without decorations.  Here's a brief peek inside mine:

I hope you have enjoyed today's post and I hope you'll stop back by next week.  Until then, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Momma's Birthday

Hello friends!

Last weekend (over Labor Day weekend), I spent the weekend with my momma celebrating her birthday.

How cute is she!?

She'll kill me for posting the pic, but come on ... she's adorable, right!?  I just love her to bits!

Anyway ... I try to send my momma a card every week (or at least every-other week) and so I always feel some pressure when it's time to make her a birthday card.  I mean she receives so many cards from me that it's hard to make the birthday card "special".  But one thing I know about my momma is this .... she's a sucker for a button on a card!  So this year, to make her birthday card special, I just added a button!  I'm typing this post BEFORE her birthday, so I'm not sure if she loved it or not, but I'm gonna venture a guess that she did!

Again, I used my project life supplies for this card!  I love it!  (And have I mentioned before that I LOVE Blackberry Bliss? ... well I do .... I LOVE it!)

Until next time, friends, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Bonus Project Life card for my Bonus Daughter!

Hello friends:

Last week I did a week of Project Life cards and memory pages and I gotta tell you something ... making cards with project life cards is addictive!  I didn't realize I would enjoy using my Project Life supplies for cards, but I really have enjoyed it!  It's just such an easy and fast way to put a card together and, of course, since they are Project Life by Stampin' Up!, all the colors coordinate with the rest of my Stampin' Up! goodies!  LOVE IT!  So anyway ... I'll be sharing a few more posts of cards I made with Project Life cards.

This card is one I made for my BONUS Daughter (some might define her as "step-daughter", but she's definitely my bonus daughter!).  The 24th of August was her 20th birthday!  Unbelievable!

On this card, the multi-colored polka dot piece in the back and the front "banner" piece are both Project Life cards.  What a pretty card!  (And super easy!)

Until next time, friends, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Christmas is Right Around the Corner!

Hello, friends!

It's true!  It's time to start thinking about making your Christmas cards!

I apologize in advance for the poor quality of this picture, but as I mentioned yesterday I was trying to get some posts up for the long weekend so that hopefully I wouldn't miss a day of blogging, so I had to go with the picture I had.  The picture is really meant as more of a "teaser" for you anyway ...

This is a couple of cards I whipped up using product from the 2014 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  There are so many fun things in the new catalog (remember yesterday's cute earrings?)

Would you like to get your own copy of the Holiday catalog and make a Christmas card?  Well, as luck would have it, I have the perfect event coming up for you!

It's your chance to get a peek at some of the new products and it's FREE!  All you have to do is RSVP by Friday, September 12th.  I can't wait to hear from you!

Until then, my friends, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!

Repurposed Embellishments

Hello friends!

I hope you have all had a wonderful and safe weekend.  I suppose many of you are still enjoying your long weekend today, as I am!  I prepared some posts before the weekend so that I wouldn't miss days blogging.  I said when I started blogging again that I wouldn't feel bad if I missed a day here or there blogging, but now that I'm "in the groove", I hate it when I miss, so I'm trying really hard not to.

Today's post is an idea for a really easy and inexpensive gift this holiday season.  I made these earrings as an incentive for some of my guests at a recent class and they were a huge hit.  I did the math and it literally cost me just over a dollar to make this entire gift!

I bought the hook earrings and jump rings at a big box store.  They were $1.99 for A LOT of them.  I can make a bunch of pairs of earrings with these.  The rest of the supplies are listed below.

Until next time, here's wishing you many creative adventures and a very Blessed day!
